1774-1840 Caspar David Friedrich Locations German painter, studied art at Copenhagen, and in 1798 settled in Dresden. Friedrich painted chiefly landscapes and seascapes, with and without figures, architectural pictures, including a few of Dresden, and some religious subjects. Religious feeling and symbolism permeate his œuvre, of which the seascape with figures, Die Lebensstufen, is a characteristic example. He possessed considerable power to convey mood in landscape. Almost forgotten in the 19th c. and early 20th c., interest in his work increased considerably in the mid-20th c. He is hardly represented in Britain, but an exhibition of 112 of his pictures at the Tate Gallery in 1972 attracted much attention. F. G. Baccio Bandinelli
(17 October 1493 - shortly before 7 February 1560), was a Renaissance Italian sculptor, draughtsman and painter. Bandinelli was the son of a prominent Florentine goldsmith, and first apprenticed in his shop. As a boy, he was apprenticed under Giovanni Francesco Rustici, a sculptor friend of Leonardo da Vinci. Among his earliest works was a Saint Jerome in wax, made for Giuliano de' Medici, identified as Bandinelli's by John Pope-Hennessy Giorgio Vasari, a former pupil in Bandinelli's workshop, claimed Bandinelli was driven by jealousy of Benvenuto Cellini and Michelangelo; and recounts that:

Eva Ottilia Adelborg, född 6 december 1855 i Karlskrona, död 19 mars 1936, var en svensk akvarellkonstnär. Hon var dotter till kommendörkapten Bror Jacob Adelborg och hans hustru Hedvig Catharina af Uhr samt syster till Gertrud Adelborg. Adelborg var "bilderbokskonstnärinna" enligt äldre benämning. Hon benämns idag barnboksillustratör, men illustrerade även böcker för vuxna, komponerade tapetmönster och skrev böcker och kan därför benämnas författare. Bosatt i Gagnef i Dalarna från juli 1903, då hon startade en skola för knyppling. Museum över hennes liv och verksamhet finns i Gagnefs gamla prostgård. Känd för bland annat affischen "Prinsarnes blomsteralfabet" (1892). Det litterära Ottilia Adelborg-priset instiftades år 2000 av Gagnefs kommun.
